It was another disappointing weekend for Brentwood Hockey Club’s top sides.
The men’s first XI made the long trip to Spalding, only to lose 5-3 against the side placed third in the league.
Brentwood appeared slow to the ball, finding themselves on the back foot from the off.
The team went in 2-1 down at half time but were level just a minute into the second half through Alex Henderson. But Brentwood capitulated, eventually falling to a 5-3 defeat – though this scoreline flattered Spalding.
The ladies first XI lost their second game on the spin at home to Crostyx.
Brentwood took the lead through Lauren Slater, but Crostyx drew level before the break.
Slater had the side back in front soon after the interval, but Crostyx pegged them back again before eventually taking the lead to win the game.
The ladies travel to Waltham Forest at the Lee Valley Hockey Centre.
