OLD Brentwood Acorns U14’s started the season with a convincing 52-26 win over South Woodham Ferrers at Ashwells Road.
Having only formed last season the boys have worked hard and gave an impressive performance in their first league match.
Four tries from Tom Walker and one each from Alex Savage, Tomi Satori, Miles Brewerton Tim Mason - with six conversions by Toby Austin, secured the win for Acorns.
The team had too much for South Woodham Ferrers in the second half, but it was a close encounter in the first period, with Acorns just a try ahead of the visitors at the break.
But in the end, impressive debuts by Tom Burkett and Luke Savage and a man of the match display from Satori contributed to a fine victory on match day one of the league.
