A TOWN crier from Essex has spoken of his joy at delivering the news of the birth of the latest royal baby.
Delighted Tony Appleton, 80, proudly announced the safe arrival of Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana outside St Mary’s Hospital in West London. Mr Appleton had the royal couple’s blessing.
He said: “I had a letter from their secretary, which said, ‘I’m sure your royal highnesses would be touched by your kind suggestion’.
“I feel so honoured and proud to have been a part of this historical event.
“I am a very proud royalist.”
