A TEENAGE girl has died following a fatal crash.

The accident happened at around 8.10pm in Ongar Road near to the Eagle Public House yesterday.

The girl, a pedestrian in her teens and thought to be from the local area, was in collision with a black Peugeot 308.

She was taken to hospital by ambulance.

She was sadly pronounced dead in the early hours of this morning.

A 64-year-old man from Brentwood has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and is currently in custody.

Police closed the road until just after 12am whilst forensic examinations took place.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.
