TWO family homes with a spook-tacular view are set to go on the market for rent.

The Brentwood Council-owned properties, one set in the London Road Cemetery and the other in the Woodman Road Cemetery, are both three-bedroom lodges that are empty.

And council leader Barry Aspinell is confident the houses will make scarily family homes.

He said: “We’re offering out these rather unusual homes.

“And it’s not every day you get invited to live in a cemetery!

“I believe both are very attractive, I’ve thought about looking at them myself.”

The London Road Cemetery Lodge has been vacant for several months and has been partially refurbished, but is in need of around £5,000 of works, including new carpets and a cooker, before it can be let.

The Woodman Road lodge has been empty for the last month and requires around £10,000 worth of maintenance before being put on the private market.

It is thought that once renovated, they could fetch between £1,200 and £1,400 per month each in rent.

It comes after it was decided that selling the lodges would be too difficult.
