A CHARITY which provides respite breaks for those who care for loved ones at home is in a desperate search for more trustees.
Crossroads Care, Brentwood, Basildon and Districts, which is based in Hutton, relies upon volunteers to make a difference.
It’s existing team of five trustees urgently needs to find three more volunteers to share the load.
Crossroads Care runs day care clubs for dementia patients and children with special needs, which gives their carer-relatives time to enjoy time away. They also arrange regular social activities for young carers, who are often juggling their schoolwork with looking after a parent at home.
John Saxton, from Ingatestone, has been a trustee at Crossroads Care for six years.
He said: “As we all know but hate to acknowledge, any of us can be in need of care, regardless of our age and apparent good health. Those who end up caring for us need and deserve respite.”
