REPRESENTATIVES from the University of Cambridge and University of Oxford visited the Brentwood County High School.

Lizzie Dobson, Schools Liaison Officer for the University of Cambridge helped students navigate their way through the application process and provided students with a unique insight into life as a student at the university.

This was followed by a visit from Dr Matthew Hiscock, Academic Registrar, University of Oxford who provided students with a step-by-step guide to applying to the university and put students mind at rest about what really happens at an interview.

Adam Smyth, AGT Coordinator, said: "We are delighted to have welcomed both universities to our school as part of our strategy to nurture talent and maximise opportunities for our young people.

"Our Able Student programme helps us to identify potential at the earliest opportunity and tailor experiences to bring out the best in our students."

Stephen Drew, the headteacher at County High, said: "We are delighted to be developing a partnership with Cambridge and Oxford Universities.

"Being able to offer such inspiring experiences to our sixth formers can only help to ensure they are supported in their aspirations. We look forward to developing our partnership in the coming months and years."
