POLICE want to speak to this man in connection with an assault at Liverpool Street station, which saw a man attacked in front of his family.

The assault happened at the Central Line Bishopsgate exit on Friday, July 4, shortly after 6.30pm. Several passers-by shouted at the attacker to stop and he ran off.

Police believe the attacker then boarded a Shenfield-bound train before getting off at Harold Wood.

PC Alex Carter said: “The victim, a 35-year-old man, was about to make his way down the stairs to the Tube with his wife and three children.

“As he prepared to pick up his two-year-old son from his buggy, another man making his way up the stairs tripped over him. The man then attacked the victim.

“Fortunately, the victim did not suffer any serious injuries, but this was a shocking attack carried out in full view of his family. I believe the attacker boarded a Shenfield-bound train and got off at Harold Wood.

"As part of our investigation, we are issuing two images of a man who we believe has valuable information about the attack.”
